Introduction:

Sangat Singh Bains was born and raised in Japan.  In 1975 while attending the University of Oregon, Sangat became a Christian and in 1983, he moved permanently to New Delhi, India. For the last twenty-five years Sangat, wife Beautrice and four children have faithfully conducted weekly home fellowships.

 

In the early 1990s Sangat began examining in detail the accounts of miraculous healings in the gospels and book of Acts. Over time he noticed a dominant pattern: neither Jesus Christ nor the apostles ever prayed for individuals to be healed or spirits to be cast out. The desired results were commanded. Authoritative power, Sangat soon recognized, should be normative for members of Christ's body. Sangat by 1995 began to teach that there was a time to pray and a time to use God-ordained authority, and it was important not to confuse the two. Soon great healings and miracles were reported in the Delhi home fellowships. As the healed and delivered shared their accounts (testimonies), attendance at fellowships grew dramatically and home fellowships multiplied in number, just like the book of Acts.

 

In 1996 Bhupender Kumar joined wholeheartedly in winning new leaders to perfect the saints. Bhupender's wife, brothers and children were among the first to attend Sangat's initial home fellowship in 1983. Bhupender, with two business enterprises to run, was uninterested in the events taking place at Sangat's house. By Bhupender's own admission, for thirteen years, as Sangat entered his front door, he went out the back.  Then in 1996 both of the businesses faced bankruptcy. Finally, at his wife's urging, he approached Sangat for advice. Sangat lovingly replied to his litany of woes, "Tell God your problems, not me. He is the one who can help." Bhupender, expecting financial assistance, departed Sangat's house furious. As the financial crisis deepened, in desperation, Bhupender finally turned to God, and God miraculously delivered him. Bhupender turned his back on the business world and dedicated his considerable energy to serving the One True God. Bhupender proved to be the answer to Sangat's specific thirteen-year prayer for an evangelist. Over the next eleven years Bhupender was responsible for winning to God's household many of the ministers who proved to be adept at leading and building up the church of God, the body of Christ, in India. 

 

Background:

The testimonies in this booklet were recorded in Delhi, India, February 2007. The saints came from villages perched on the sides of 9000-foot mountains, teeming cities and farm communities throughout India. None of the speakers were formerly Christians (except Peter Paul) but Hindus, Sikhs, Moslems and various other religions that worship any number of the 37 million gods in India. This is not a third-world phenomenon. The message our Indian brothers and sisters in Christ have for their Western brethren is: "You, too, can and should have signs, miracles and wonders in your daily lives."

 

And More:

The "And More" section of this booklet consists of two testimonies that are a direct fruit of the work in India. Lee Pemberton and Jan Booze are two saints from different parts of the United States: Virginia and Colorado. Both women heard about the faith of the Indian saints from Sangat on his visits to their towns in the last four years. They too (as did hundreds of others) believed and received miraculous healing.

Tiwari's Testimony

Ken Petty: Last March when I came to India, I did an interview with Sangat Bains, and I asked him how the Word got started in India.  He shared that he had prayed for a leader, and God had given him Bhupender. Then I also did an interview with Bhupender, and he shared that God had put it on his heart to go to the city of Kanpur. He went for four years without really seeing any results, and he continued to pray for a leader. He finally went and he told God, "God this is the last time and if you don't get me a leader, I am not going back." It was at that time that he met Kalashnath Tiwari who now is the leader of Kanpur and overseeing a great work here in Kanpur. I wanted to have Tiwari share how it was that he came to know the True God.

 

Tiwari: God, who is everywhere and who is our Father and is the Father of His Son, our Messiah, I would like to thank Him. By the grace of the Most High Holy Spirit, I have come to know the truth. My name is Kalashnath Tiwari, and I am [by caste] a Brahmin. Before this, whatever I knew of God was through my Hindu religion. In India, people believe in God in two ways: they either know Him as the invisible God or the visible God. As a Brahmin, the teaching I received was that there is One God who is invisible, and He is Spirit. Yet I was still looking for the True God among the "visible" gods. And I searched diligently and read many, many books, but I did not find the truth and I did not find any peace, the true peace that we [believers] know about.

 

I did not know how to receive anything from God or how to receive salvation. I made up my mind that since there is only One God, I needed to believe in only One Invisible God. Many people in India talk about One God. So in my mind, I decided to stop looking at the visible gods and seek the invisible God only. My heart's desire was to bless people and that their children would be well-pleasing; that the youth would grow up to be well-pleasing; that mothers and fathers would be well-pleasing and that all families would have love one for another. I desired that there would no strife and difference of caste, religion, etc. among people. I desired that all people would become sons and daughters of that One God.

 

When I read the newspaper in India, (because I have not been abroad), I read that so-and-so has done wrong to this person or so-and-so has cheated another; someone has committed suicide; someone has murdered someone; someone has died of some disease; or someone has committed suicide due to severe problems. All these terrible things happened because of a lack of the knowledge of God [the truth]. Therefore, I strongly desired from God and said: "Please give me Your knowledge and Your wisdom that You have for every man."

 

Quest for answers: One day, I was working in Delhi, and my mind was searching for God. I did not have any desire to become rich or for worldly things. I was living with a very big burden in my life: I was unhappy and wherever I looked, I saw that people had no love for one another. I asked, how can we manifest love, and how can people become good [well-pleasing]? So I prayed to God, "Father please tell me how this can happen?" Then I realized that I need a "guru" (teacher/master) to show me the way without which I could not know the way.

 

I continued to pray to God. I knew that one day, I would die and (I wondered) what would happen to my spirit? I knew that there was a God, and I wondered, "How could I get to know Him Who has created me?" I did not like anything that the world had to offer, and I did not understand the "love of the world". I prayed to God. I was so tired of the world. I thought to myself that if I don't get the guru in this area where I was working, then I would leave my work and go to the Himalayan Mountains where no one would be able to find me.

 

I set my house in order to take care of my family and prepared to leave for the mountains. In the jungle I would call on God and ask for a guru [teacher]. If God would send me a guru, I would listen to him, and I would teach what I had learned to everyone. So I prayed to God for such a guru who would not die, one who could live forever. I decided that if I did not find a guru in the jungle, I would not come home but live in the jungle until I died.

 

But something happened that prevented me from going to the Himalayan Mountains, and I was again in much grief. I again prayed to God, "What should I do?" I made a habit getting up at 2 AM to pray to God and ask for a guru. I said to God, "You are in this world; you are One so You must have made just one way [to You]. You (God) must know the one guru who You have provided to the world." I prayed very much like this to God, and I cried profusely also.

 

Early one morning [as I was praying], I saw a great light that flashed in my eyes. I felt power entering my entire body, and I felt a great peace like the ocean when it is still. I immediately stopped crying, and I heard a voice saying, "You will meet the guru, and you have found him." I stopped praying, and I believed that it would be just like it was told me.

 

The True Guru: Sometime later, I returned from Delhi to Kanpur. A friend of mine asked me how I was doing, and I said, "I am well." He asked me if I believed in God. He said, "I know you do believe since you tell others about Him." He said to me, " I would like to tell you something about God". He asked me, "Do you know the Son of God?" And I said, "Everyone is a child of God, but tell me what you know". He said that the Son of God is Jesus Christ. So I asked him to tell me more about this Son of God.

 

He said to me that he [Jesus Christ] is the guru [teacher/master] and that I could pray to God in his name. I replied, "I have prayed to God in the name of many gurus, but I have not found any peace." I said to him,  "You have told me about this so I will do it today." Earlier I had thought that Jesus Christ was only for the Christians, and Christianity is just another religion. Yet I knew that Jesus was a great man of God and that he had preached God's message and it had become a religion. Nevertheless, I decided that I would pray to God in his name. I said to God, "Father, if he is Your Son, show me."

 

 

But I had very little knowledge of Jesus Christ. So I asked my friend whether there were any books about the Son of God. He said, "Yes." So I requested that he get me the books. I gave him money to get me the books because I wanted to know more about him. The next day he brought me a Bible, and I started to read and receive the knowledge. One place I read:

 

Mark 16:17, 18

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

 

I said to myself that this is truth and I would like to practice it. I also read in another place:

 

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

 

When I read this, I was very happy for I had already seen this by experience. Previously I had prayed for peace, and I received it. So I decided to practice this principle also.

 

I am with you: So to see Mark 16:17,18 in experience, I went to a hospital. There was a boy who for three days had been shouting loudly. He could not recognize anyone. They had tied his hands so he would not pick up his bed and throw it at people. He also had [IV] tubes in his nose. I heard about this boy at the hospital, and I prayed to God, "Father, I would like to see this boy today." Before I went, I prayed again and God told me by the spirit, "Go! I am with you."

 

When I arrived at the hospital there was a big crowd around that boy. His family was crying. I asked, "What happened to him?" They answered and said, "We don't know what has happened." I asked them, "Will you have faith in God?" They said, "Yes, we will."

 

I asked the family to come out of the room, and I took them to a small park nearby. I had them all sit down, and then I said, "Whatever I say, you say also." [I had them pray:] "Oh Father, we put our son into Your hands. In name of Jesus Christ, make him whole."

 

After this prayer was over, I took one of the family members back to the hospital room of the boy. I put my hand on the head of the boy. I commanded in name of Jesus Christ that whatever was inside him to get out. Immediately the boy became quiet and fell asleep. I came home and two or three days later, I returned to the hospital and the boy was fine. The family introduced me and said this is the "priest" that made the boy well.

After this I went home and prayed to God, "Father, how can I get people together to know the truth because this is the truth? How can I get my brothers and sisters in the Hindu faith to come?" 

 

I prayed to God for a hungry soul whom I could teach.  I also prayed to God and said, "I don't have a good knowledge of the truth, and most of the people only know about religion. I asked God for someone to teach me the truth. I did not want to forsake my lord Jesus Christ or change anyone's religion. I did not want to do this at all. So I asked God to please give me a person who could teach me the true way.

 

Four-Year Quest: I sought for such a teacher for four years. During that time, though I preached the Word, we only had 10 to 25 people coming to my home. My family also believed, but we did not have the complete knowledge. During those four years, whenever it would come to my mind, I would pray for someone to teach me and with whom I could work [to preach]--not according to religion, but according to the truth. I also asked that people would be able to listen to him without arguing or being offended. I wanted all to be of one mind.

 

One day, I received news that there was a man who knew the truth. There were, however, eight or nine people with me from the Christian religion who opposed this man's teaching. They desired to correct his teaching. I decided to go with them. I took my brother, Kamlesh, and went to meet this man. It was then that I met Bhupender for the first time. We met at Bhupender's cousin's office (The cousin was a dentist) with eight or ten other people. These people (the denominational Christians) had agreed to show Bhupender what was wrong with his teaching and correct him. So I told them, "OK, I am completely with you, and whatever is the truth, he should listen."

 

Religious Confusion: So everyone sat down and began to speak at the same time. Bhupender suggested that just one person speak at a time. I had gone there to learn the truth. So I was ready to listen to all. So for one hour one man spoke, and Bhupender listened to him and took some notes. The final speaker then said, "I am done." Bhupender then asked if he could now speak. As soon as Bhupender began speaking, all the others started to argue. I said to them, "Don't everyone speak at once. Let the man talk!" I also told them to answer the man from the Word of God just like he [Bhupender] had spoken from the Word of God. They again became quiet, and Bhupender started to answer from the Word, but they all started speaking again. I told them again, "Please be quiet." I told them once more to answer from the written Word of God. Again Bhupender started to speak, and yet again all the men started talking.

 

Bhupender then closed his Bible and said that since no one wanted to answer from the Bible, he would not continue the discussion. Bhupender said, "If anyone would like to really know, come to me." Everyone just left and went outside. The spirit within me said, "You must speak to him alone." I quietly went to Bhupender and whispered to him, "I would really like to talk to you. I liked what you shared because you were speaking from the Word of God. You were not speaking from outside of God's Word."

 

Bhupender said, "Kanpur is not my home. I come here to visit, and then I go back to Delhi. So would you like to go to a park and listen to what I have to say?" Then I invited him to my home and wanted to show him right away where I lived. (Ed. note: An invitation to someone's home is an honor in India.) I knew that if Bhupender had asked the others where I lived, they would not have told him. So I took him to my home and showed him where I lived, and I asked him to come there in the morning. He agreed to come at 10 AM the next morning.

 

True Meekness: Before his coming, many people told me that his teaching was wrong. But I had said that I would listen and if I liked it, I would believe; otherwise, I would not. No one would force me to change my mind. If I see that the teaching is right, then I will believe. Then some of the others agreed with me and said, "Go ahead".

 

So Bhupender came and began to give me the teaching. He said to me, "I want to share with you this knowledge because I have seen your heart. You have great desire so, therefore, I will declare this unto you. "I told him that I would like all my family to hear what he had to say."  Bhupender said, "No, I will teach only you. If you understand it, then fine; otherwise, I will go back." I said, "Fine, please tell me."

 

Bhupender began to teach me. Later he gave me a Bible class. After that I took other classes and I began to understand what a great truth the Word of God is. I saw the "deep things" of God. Many people have been confused by not understanding it. I told Bhupender that I would like to proclaim this truth with him. I wanted to teach this sound doctrine to everyone.

 

Bhupender asked me if I would like to come to Delhi. I said I would like to go. Bhupender said that he wanted me to meet his teacher, Sangat Singh Bains. I had only heard the class on tape, and I had only heard Sangat's voice and never met him. I really wanted to go meet him.

 

Sangat's Comments: It was around 2002/2003 that Bhupender met Tiwari and taught him the Word of God for about a year-and-a-half, just one-on-one. Bhupender would go from Delhi to Kanpur and spend a month teaching him, go back and come again after some months. After this extended period, Tiwari came to Delhi where I met him for the first time.

 

Tiwari Continues:  The day I went to Delhi, there was a home fellowship. I took part in the fellowship, and Mr. Sangat was teaching the Word of God. I was very blessed to listen and happy that I got to see Mr. Sangat. The following day, I went to meet Mr. Sangat at his home and whatever questions I had, I asked him. Those things that I had not understood from the class, I also asked him. He taught me, and I received the understanding that I wanted.

 

Then I returned to Kanpur. While I was in the train, I was lying down in the sleeping berth. On my journey I continued to pray. I said to the Father, "Father, when I put my feet on the Kanpur station, Your powerful work will begin in Kanpur." My faith soared. I prayed to God that my family would recognize that this is the sound doctrine.

 

Great Work Begins: On the way from the train station to my home, I stopped to see Mrs. Seema Mishra and Mr. Manoj Mishra to whom I used to teach what I knew of God's Word. I told them the person from Delhi was right and what he taught was right. After saying these things, I returned home and told my brother. Suddenly God opened the eyes of my brother, and he also saw the truth. He was also excited and acknowledged that they had come to the real truth. My entire family believed this wonderful truth.

 

After some time, Bhupender again came to my house, and we together began to share God's Word. We shared the Word with the Mishras, and then gradually my brother Dewant came. Then God sent Gottam, and Sangeeta Paul came to this truth. Going along like this, so many people came to know the truth that I can't even count the number. The fellowships began house to house, and the number of people grew. And it continues to grow.

 

My prayer and my desire is that this truth of God and which is from God would reach every house and through that, everyone will have the love [of God]. Also that God's love, God's truth, and God's peace will go to every home and through that, everyone will be one and there will be no differences and this has begun. All kinds of religions and all kinds of people are coming to the fellowships. Our desire is not only for India, but also for all the nations of the world to come to the truth.

 

I also wish that God's desire is fulfilled because God's desire is for all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. I would like to say to my brothers and sisters all over the world that we should pray to God for Him to send those people who hunger for the truth and those who don't love the world but love Him. We ask God to give us those who have a great desire for God and those who will work for God, and that through them, God will bring millions of people to the truth so that God's desire will be fulfilled. I also pray that all over the world, the peace of God and the love of God and the grace of God will abound and that no one should perish, but all will be saved. This is my prayer. God knows our hearts.

 

I thank God for all of you from different parts of the world, and I send my greetings to you. I want all people to become sons and daughters of God. We should keep Him first and seek Him first. We should be one mind and walk as sons and daughters of God. (Ed. Note: In less than two years, the outreach in the city of Kampur expanded from a handful of Tiwari's relatives to thousands. No one ever keeps track of the number of fellowships, let alone the number of saints, but Tiwari estimates there must be between five- and ten-thousand believers and twenty-five to thirty full-time ministers.)

Question-and-Answer with Tiwari:

Ken asks: "Tiwari, how do you work with your leaders?"

Tiwari: We train the leaders from the Word of God and share with them the spiritual truth of the Word of God. The first thing is that you must put God's Word inside your heart and walk according to His ways. And just as it is written, we are to be humble before God, patient, longsuffering.

 

The one who ministers God's Word must be blameless, no striker, patient, etc. [the qualifications for leadership--1 Timothy 3:1ff]. He is to be humble and meek in the home and outside. He should speak to everyone with respect. When we share God's Word, we don't force it on anyone. We pray to God, and we request God to open their hearts that they can understand, that their desire is intense and that their heart is tender to receive. In such a manner we teach them.

 

Love Not the World: Then I look at their desire and those who have the desire, I ask them to come and follow me. We don't chase anyone; we love all, and if you have desire, then come. Those who respond with desire will have success in their work. Those who come (to God's work) without desire will not be successful. They will turn their eyes towards the world. The ones who teach God's Word to people must not love the world. They must love God with all their hearts and love God's people. This is what we teach to each one.

 

We give the class (the audio Bible class which Sangat teaches) to these ministers. Then we get them to come along with us. Wherever we go to minister, we take them with us. We show them how we teach and ask them to pay attention. When God's Word is taught, it must be taught correctly. There should not be any blame to the ministry. After a time, we ask them to start speaking by giving them a chance to teach, maybe 15 minutes the first time. If they make any mistakes, we take them aside and help them to have better understanding.  Then we give them other opportunities and maybe next time, they teach 20 or 25 minutes. So in the space of six or seven months, the person is ready. Such a person can then teach for one hour, two hours, three hours or more, and he is ready.

 

Prayer for Laborer: We also teach them to ask the Father for a laborer to come who they can train in the same way, by taking him place to place. In this way we might get 8 to 10 leaders ready. It is my job then to watch over them. I tell the leader who oversees me everything that is going on. We keep good communication with each other, and the new leaders do the same [with me]. If I have any questions, I ask Bhupender and Bhupender might ask Sangat.

 

Some of the plans [to minister God's Word] we make by all getting together so that with one mind we do God's work. In such a manner we will reach out everywhere. This was the method that Jesus Christ taught his followers. The disciples carried out his instructions. They respected their Master. In a similar way, we respect the one who teaches us. If I treat my teachers honorably, the ministers I oversee will also treat me the same.

 

Just like the Lord Jesus Christ asked his Father for everything, we also ask the Father for everything in his [Christ's] name. The Lord Jesus Christ said that my Father is the Husbandman, I am the vine and you are the branches, and if you don't abide in me, you cannot be fruitful. So we need to be tapped into the Lord Jesus Christ. We must stand on God's Word as it has been taught with one mind. In this way, God's will can be fulfilled. So we continue in this way and God prospers us because God has made us triumphant in Christ. Thank-you.

 

 Another Question/Comment:  For you, witnessing is just a lifestyle--if you are driving a taxi, in the market, etc, you just speak God's Word? Sangat translates the question: "In what way do you get new people to come [to the fellowships]?"

 

Tiwari: If I am on my way somewhere, sitting on a train or bus, if I am buying something in the bazaar, or buying something at a shop--of course, I am walking in love because it's God's instruction to us. When we are talking to people, at times they may tell us their problems and I tell them, "All will be well. If you have a desire to get rid of your problems, then come with me." Having said just this much, I give them our address and information. We don't talk too much at that time because we don't usually have much time. I tell them with boldness and confidence that all of their problems will be solved and they will get happiness in their lives because that is God's promise.

 

This is why we do this work, and we have seen the results and we know these promises are true. So we are very bold to say that what has been promised (by God) will happen. When I return home, of course, I pray for that person: "Father, if this man belongs to you and is truly hungering and thirsting, then please send him to me." After prayer, I just leave it up to God.

 

God Sent People: We go other places also; for example, if I am traveling on a train, I may not be reading the Bible  (normally I read it in private), and I am sitting (with others on the train) I just pray in the spirit to myself and give thanks to God. I ask God, "Father, since I am seated here, if there is anyone who belongs to you, then open the door for me to speak to him." Then, it so happens that as the conversation begins---people usually start to discuss their troubles or sicknesses or worries or fights they are in; they don't have peace in the family. Maybe everything is OK, but they don't have any peace in their hearts. Perhaps if someone is searching for the truth, God will send such a person, and we begin to speak.

 

I also ask God if this is the right time to speak. There may be many people sitting next to me. If I start talking, another person may not want to listen, or may cause a disturbance. So at times, God shows me not to speak so much in that situation. I'll only tell a little bit about the Holy Spirit:  "There is only One True God, and He loves you, and God wants to give you a wonderful life. God wants to manifest Himself to you and wants your family to live in love and peace so you become [part of] the family of God."  Then I give them my information. If this person has a real desire, fine; otherwise, it's no problem either. I just pray, "God, if they are yours, let them come."

 

If that person comes, then we teach him and invite him to fellowship. When he comes to fellowship, meets the other brothers and sisters, and listens to the testimonies, he realizes that this is great and that this is the truth. He realizes that this is not a question of religion or of works; it's a matter of believing from the heart and praying to God, and his life changes.

Once we know the truth of God, we don't live just for ourselves unto selfish ends, but our desire becomes to give and live for Him. We become living sacrifices. We sorrow when others sorrow. We pray for their deliverance. God answers prayer, and that person's life changes. His family becomes blessed and filled with love.

 

So, in such a way, our family is growing. When such a person comes and gets blessed, he brings ten more. In such a manner, people are telling the truth to their brother or sister and their whole family. Then it gets to their relatives in different cities and countries; in such a way, the truth reaches everywhere. In this manner, we become one in Christ and fulfill God's desire and wish. We do this with all of our heart and love and desire.

 

When the leaders and ministers who teach receive a phone call for prayer or other need, they are ready to go. They do whatever it takes to take care of the need and look after one another. The leaders look after one another also. We watch over each other's work. If there is a need to meet with only the leaders, some of the leaders will take care of the people. In this way, the work of God is growing. The leaders are doing their work and looking for other leaders who they can train. They give them classes and train them, etc. This is going on and cannot be stopped because it is God's will. It is not our will; it is God's will. God is very happy and wants this work to grow, and that is why it will continue to grow. Thank-you.

 

Kamlesh- (Tiwari's younger brother) Ed. Note: This was the testimony at the leaders meeting that seemed to strike a chord with the Indian saints more than any other. They were truly energized by it and responded with cheers, clapping and much laughter. Sangat's driver, who was not born again at the time (he is now), told me that this account had the greatest impact on him.

 

I needed a job and I had always wanted to get a government job. When my brother told me that I can get anything in the name of Jesus Christ, I decided to ask God to get a government job. We know that we can receive anything we need in the name of Jesus Christ, and it is ours.

 

I had a much bigger problem than getting the job. And this problem was very dangerous also---for half of my hair had gone gray! Everywhere I went, people used to make fun of me and call me "old man."  So when I heard the Word of God, I totally forgot about my need for work and started to pray about my hair problem. I prayed, "Father God, You can always get me a job later, but please make my hair turn black."

 

In Matthew 5:36, it is written:

"Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black."

 

So I prayed (in the spirit) two to two-and--half hours a day during the summer for this. After a month-and-a-half, I looked in the mirror and ALL my hair had turned black! And now I am in front of you, and you see that my hair is black. But people did not believe this---thinking that I had simply colored my hair---so I completely shaved my head. After that, my new hair all came in black. And then people believed me. Today I only have two gray hairs so no one can say that I have colored my hair. If I colored my hair, how could I miss only two? That was a sign to me that God had made my hair black.

 

After this, God really worked with me and did so many things. I had many desires, and God has fulfilled them. One of my desires was to play the harmonium [Ed. Note: this is a musical instrument similar to an accordion], and now you have seen that I can play it. I also had a desire to preach God's Word, and I am doing that also. God has truly fulfilled my desires. As long as I am alive on this earth, I want to do this work.

 

Previously I had been anxious to get a government job, but now I want to do what God wants me to do. I can say to you today that God has given a job of "international" status. The vacancies for this job are unlimited [people applaud---he is referring to the harvest being plenteous, but the laborers being few]. To get this job, you don't even have to pay a bribe! So I would really like to thank God that He has fulfilled my desires. This is such a great job that I will never retire from it [laughter]. I also will get a great payment [of rewards] for this work.

 

This being a Leader's meeting, I would like to share two points: one for ambassadors and the other concerns faith. Often I think about how great God is. One day I saw a man run over by a bus in Kanpur. The wheel had gone over his head and crushed it so his brain gushed out. I saw this as I was riding by on my bicycle. The man was killed, of course.

 

I got to thinking about how big God is that has made all of us and given us a brain that is so small that fits in the head. Even with this very small brain, man has made so many things: cameras, TV, airplanes, etc. We can talk to someone so far away [on the phone]. To think that all this came from the mind of man! So if man can do this, what about the One who made man? What is it that He cannot do? He can do everything---there is no work too hard for Him.

 

When I preach the Word to new people and encourage them to speak it, some of them complain that they don't have enough money for doing such a work. They say, "We don't have any money in our pockets. We have no good clothes or good shoes, so how can we go out and preach?" I remind them what is written in the Psalms:

    "I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil." (Psalm 119:162)

 

So I tell people that if you look to God only, He will prepare the way for you. I would like to share from Matthew:

Matthew 21:1-3

1  And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

2  Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

3  And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

 

There was a reason behind what Jesus Christ did.

Matthew 21:4, 5

4  All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

5  Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

 

Why did Jesus Christ pick an ass [to ride on]? He could have picked from many animals. He could have picked from horses, elephants, etc. Why choose an ass and this colt? What he said to his disciples was, "The Lord hath need of them." Now let's read verses 6, 7 and 8.

 

Matthew 21:6-8

6  And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

7  And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

8  And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

 

Look at what happened. You all know how an ass carries heavy loads on its back all the time, but no one gives it the time of day or gives it any notice. The people had spread garments in the way. These garments and branches made a sort of carpet to walk on. However, the Lord Jesus did not walk on this "carpet", but the ass did! And for once in its life, that ass got some respect.

 

I was that ass. No one used to give me any respect or pay attention to me. I carried lots of burdens on my back. The ass became something when Jesus Christ chose it; now Christ has also chosen me. He is not on top of me like he was on the ass, but he is in me. Jesus Christ is within me today, and that is why I am respected. If Christ were not in my life, I would just be an "ass". It is written in the Word of God, "I have chosen the foolish to confound the wise." I have had the privilege of teaching those that are considered wise---doctors, military officers and others have come to me for healing and I have ministered God's Word to them. Many of these people fell down at my feet and gave me respect. I have grabbed them by the hand and lifted them up, telling them, "Don't bow down to me---I am not the great one."

 

 So the thought came to me that at one time, I was nothing but an ass, but now that it is Christ in me, I am respected. It is written in God's Word that the Lord needed that ass. We all are maybe like that ass, but the Lord has need of us also. And together we will do a great work for the Lord. The work that lions cannot do, we "asses" will do! This is because God has raised all of us up.

 

I have one small point to make for ambassadors, what God can do for us. When we write exams to get a government job, we have to do a lot of hard work to study so we can pass. Once we pass the exam and get the job, we begin to do our service and automatically get a lot of respect; we get a good salary and many benefits and our life is free from worry. Because these government jobs offer such a good deal, I looked very hard to be able to get such a job. The job did not find me, but I found the job.

 

If you get letter from the Prime Minister of India that he has chosen you to work for him, will you stay in poverty? No! If you received such a letter, you would be full of joy because the top person in the country has chosen you. You would have no fear of any lack. And this is only the choosing of someone of the world and yet what happiness it would bring you. It is written in God's Word- Jesus said

John 15:16

"Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain.."

 

We did not choose him, but he chose us. So if the Lord has chosen us, can we not expect to live a good life? The Prime Minister of India is just the ruler of one country, but the one who has chosen us is the king of all life. That is why we will get everything we need. We will do his work, faithfully knowing that God has already done everything for us in Christ.

 

Ed. Note:. Less than two years ago, Kamlesh was a Hindu, a worshiper of many strange gods. Today Kamlesh is a full-time minister for the One True God. I am beginning to see why the outreach in India has been so incredible and the true role of a full-time minister.

 

 

 

Rekha Shukla: (Tiwari's younger sister)

Bhupender introduces Tiwari's sister. He mentions that Mr. Tiwari's mother is over 75 years old, but God has kept her healthy and she boldly speaks God's Word also.

 

I am very thankful to my Heavenly Father for bringing me here and I thank Him in the name of Jesus Christ. This is the first time in my life that I have been to Delhi and I am very happy.

 

My father was a very strict man and we used to stay at home and be very afraid of him. Now however I have found another Father who has completely freed me. What I mean is that there is no fear whatsoever anymore! We are not afraid of any human being.

 

When I first became a believer, I was working in the court of law. I was a Xerox operator. From the beginning I was interested in technical work. I started this job, but I did not know about God. I heard the Word of God through my brother and came to know the truth. When I first heard the name of Jesus, I thought it was another religion. I used to a very sickly person, full of anxiety and worry. My brother said, "Look how troubled you are." When my brother used to speak to me, I would say that I was not interested in all these things. So my brother told me to pray for a change of heart. He said that I should pray and ask God to go to a home fellowship meeting on Sunday. So I prayed and ended up going to the fellowship.

 

At the home fellowship I listened to all the people giving their testimonies and talking about their deliverance from sicknesses and other problems. I thought in my mind, "Can this really be true? Can this really happen?" So when I went home, I said to myself, "It is true that there is One God." Then I prayed to God, "God please heal me." I prayed with many tears.

 

I wanted to leave my job because at my work I was asked to put a stamp on documents that I did not think were correct. So I wanted to leave that job because I could not do this work once I came to know God's Word. So God made it possible for me to leave this job and asked God to start my own business. I had no money, but God worked so many miracles that if I were to tell them all, it would take a LONG time.

 

In-Law Conflict: However, I want to give one small testimony. Before I started my job, I did not want to live with my in laws, especially my sister-in-law. She and I were constantly fighting and we did not get along at all. I prayed that my sister-in-law would get married and move out. He father in law had already passed away [ed. Note: This situation makes it very difficult in the Indian culture for the daughter to get married]. So I prayed for that my sister-in-law would find a great husband and move into her own house. I had no strength of my own to bring such a thing to pass. But I had complete faith in God and said "Father, You will do this work," and she did get married.

 

I have been in God's Word for three years and God has done many wonderful things for me. When we like some food, we sometimes end up eating too much. If we don't digest or expel this food, it would trouble us. In the same way, God has done so many works in our lives that unless we tell others about them, we will not be happy. The works that have happened in our lives can happen in the lives of others also. God has sent Jesus Christ for everyone so all could become sons and daughters of God.

 

My first desire was to strengthen my own house [with the Word of God]. Once my family and household are strong in God's Word, then they can do anything. Once a home is strong, then if anyone comes against that house, it (the opposition) will be able to stand. Also, if my family is against me, I cannot fully preach the gospel, because half of my mind will be on the family and half on God's Word. So I prayed to God to strengthen my family and to help them to stand with me. I prayed to God saying, "Father, I cannot change their minds, but You can." So when I wanted to come here [to the Leader's Weekend] I needed someone to take care of my mother-in-law. And my sister-in-law [the one who didn't get along with me] volunteered to help and encouraged me to come!

 

Those of us who are strong in God's Word should endeavor to help others recognizing all that God has done for us. Just like Paul taught:

Romans 15:1

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

This is my desire- that just as God has taught me His Word and blessed me, I can share it with others.

Sangeeta Paul's Testimony:                                                                                        (Ed.Note: Sangeeta was one of the first to respond to Tiwari when he commenced teaching of the One True God in the Kampur area. Sangeeta is a full time minister and has reached many of her relatives and neighbors. Women in the Indian culture are second-class citizens. This is not true in the body of Christ where there is neither bond nor free male or female, many of the leaders of these home fellowships are women.

Ken: I would like to just ask Sangeeta Paul how it was that she came to know the True God.

 

Sangeeta: My name is Sangeeta Paul and I came to know the truth through Mrs. Seema and my landlord Mr. Manoj who taught me the true Word of God. Before I came to know the truth, I was in much trouble. My business was almost completely ruined and we did not have a cent to our name.

 

My Sister [in Christ], Mrs. Seema told me that if you would put your faith in God and ask of Him, you will get everything that you need. After this I met with Mr. Tiwari [a full-time minister in Kanpur] and he taught me God's True Word. At first, I was concerned whether he [Mr. Tiwari] wanted me to convert me to another religion or whether this was really the truth. When I came to understand that this is really the truth, I decided to ask God, "Father, you know my husband's business has been destroyed so I ask you to prosper his business". I asked God for this and within one week, God gave me the answer.

 

So as I began to ask God and see the results. With this method [asking and then receiving], my faith started to increase more and more. My faith in God increased so much that I said to God, "God because You have saved me and done so much for me, I would like to work to increase Your kingdom." And just as I believed and had asked God that is exactly what God gave to me. Even after starting to grow in faith, there were some circumstances that came up that could weaken one's faith. I would like to give a small testimony.

 

Daughter Healed: When I came into the faith and started to believe, my daughter was one and a half years old. Mrs. Seema who had taught me, had a home fellowship every week. One day my daughter was in great pain with a headache. My husband took her to the doctor. The doctor told my husband to get some tests done on her for he suspected the child had a brain tumor. So my husband took her to a well-known specialist who did the tests and confirmed that the tests were positive. The doctor also said that if you don't get an operation done, this tumor can spread. He said that even with the operation, there could not be any guarantee that she would be saved. And even if not and if she was saved, they could not guarantee that she would remain well. She could become blind or some thing could go wrong with her hands and feet [paralysis].

 

My husband and I did not even have enough money for the operation and we did not want to borrow this money either. So my husband and I took our daughter and sat down and I prayed to God: "Father, she is your daughter and she is in Your hands and I don't have any money and I am telling You that You have made my daughter whole."

 

 

 

Believe me that after this [prayer], for the next fifteen days, we didn't even think about our daughter's condition. We just saw that she was well. It just so happened that after those days, we had another test done and this time the results were negative!

 

Challenge of Faith: From this, my husband's faith and mine increased even more. Through this and other testimonies, my faith continued to grow.  So I have one more testimony, which completely changed my life. I know that my faith was already high and Bhupender has told of how much faith I have, but I was concerned about my husband's faith.  I would teach him many things to increase his faith, yet once he would look at the circumstances, his faith would get completely shattered.

 

About two years ago, on August 15, 2005, there was a fellowship at Mr. Tiwari's house. I remember that that day Mr. Bhupinder was also there and he asked me to share a little bit of God's Word in the fellowship. But from the morning on, I was in a very bad mood because of my husband. Every time he would talk, he would not talk about positive things, but negative things. So that day I made a decision, that instead of living in this very negative situation- where there were sometimes good and sometimes bad things- that I would give it all to God. (Ed. Note: Sangeeta's personality is very forceful and dynamic, as you will see this quality got her is a spot of trouble but God, who looks on the heart, bailed her out.)

 

Near where I live the Ganga River [considered holy by Hindus] passes by. So I said to my husband, "Since every day you speak such negative things, today I am taking my daughter and leaving you to go drown ourselves in the river." So my daughter and I started to walk to the river and my husband started following us. He said that he was going to call Mr. Tiwari.

 

Intervention of God: I said to him, "You can phone Mr. Tiwari or my mother or anyone else. I am not going to come around today. I don't care." So my husband said, "If you are going to go die, so will I." I said, "As you wish, you can come or not, but my daughter and me are going to die because of your negatives".  So, all three of us went to the river. Just as we reached the edge of the river, it felt like someone grabbed me from behind and pulled me back. Even as I was walking to the river, I heard in my spirit, "Why are you doing this?" Remember, I had also made up my mind beforehand to do the work of God. As I walked I had heard again and again, "Don't do this." [After I was pulled back] in my spirit I said, "Who are you?" and the response was "I am the One who stopped you".

 

Then I stopped and prayed to God and returned back to my home.  I told my husband that if you will continue to speak negative things, you and I cannot be together. So since then, day by day God has prospered our business and God has granted all that I have asked of Him. My husband's faith also has increased since that day and he has not fallen into doubting. And I have given myself completely to the work of the Lord.

 

I have many Bengali relatives and my first desire is to win them. So I have started the work of God and my heart's desire is that I would do the work of God with my entire mind like Paul did. So I am now a full-time minister and I am getting ready to go to Calcutta where the work of God has already begun. God bless you all.

 

Sangeeta Paul's sister:

I am from Kanpur and I came to know God's Word through my sister Sangeeta Paul. I want to thank God and give a testimony. One night I was sleeping with my mother, but she was feeling very ill and had a high fever. She couldn't get to sleep and wouldn't let me sleep either. So I prayed to God, "Father I would like to sleep so please heal my mother."

 

I asked my mother, "Mummy would you like me to heal you?" She got very angry and shouted at me saying, "No!" Then I got angry and said, "OK, then I won't heal you." She then changed her mind and said, "Alright, go ahead and heal me, something might happen." I said, "No, don't think it MIGHT happen, say that it HAS happened." Then I healed her and she fell asleep and I went to sleep also.

 

Living Word of God: I want to give another testimony. One night I was in my room reading God's Word and it felt to me that my Bible was breathing. I ran to my mother and said, "Mother, please come and touch my Bible- it feels like it is breathing!  My mother said, "No, nothing is happening." I went back to my room and when I touched my Bible, it again felt like it was breathing. Then I realized that God was showing me that Father's Word is a Living Word and that my Father is always with me. 

 

I have a great desire to go and preach God's Word, just like Jesus Christ did by going place to place. I also want to preach the Word of God like my sister does, she goes from place to place also.

 

Savartri:

I heard the Word of God from Sangeeta. My name is Savartri. I live near Mr. Tiwari, but heard the Word of God very late in life [she laughs]. My daughter had a baby boy. He did not have a bowel movement or pass urine for 38 hours. The doctor said that he would have to give him glucose IV. The doctor had already made all the preparations to do so. But I prayed to God, "Father God, this boy is your child, You gave him life and he should not need any injection and in the name of Jesus Christ." I put my hand on his stomach. Ten minutes later he had a normal bowl movement. He is perfectly healthy.

Vimal Kumar Gupta:

First I would like to say hello to all my brothers and sisters in the USA. How did I come to a knowledge of the truth? I am from the Hindu background and I was very strong in this religion. First I spoke to Mr. Bhupender Kumar. He was coming and going to Kanpoor and I used to talk to him. He used to tell me about God, but I did not listen. Again he would come to Kanpur. He spoke to me from the Scriptures, but I talked to him from the [Bhagavad-Gita: Hindu scriptures]. I could never win in the discussions. I was reading my books and wondering why it [my religion] does not work. In some things I was ashamed. So this continued for four years. (Ed. Note: Vimal had a part-time job in Bhupender's cousin's dentist office.     The people around Bhupender (the denominational Christians) told him that Vimal would never believe because he was such a devout Hindu. Yet God told Bhupender that he would believe, so he worked with him for four years before Vimal finally saw the truth.)

 

After all this time, I started to listen a little bit. I now know that it is written in God's Word that man can repent. So I really thank God for all that Bhupender taught me. I finally accepted God's Word and believed Romans 10:9 in my heart. After this I really cried my eyes out because I had wasted four valuable years. So I truly thank God that He put His favor upon me and that I can rightly divide God's Word. Now I have great desire to do the work of God. I received the truth from Mr. Bhupender and he truly labored for me a lot. He faced many difficulties, but he still taught me God's Word.

 

Then Mr. Sangat Bains came [to Kanpur] and when he did a fellowship, I went there. After the fellowship, everyone was planning to go to Delhi. Mr. Sangat suggested to me, "Brother you should take the [Bible] class." (Ed.Note: A number of years ago Sangat put a Bible class on tape. It is this class that the other leaders give to those individuals demonstrate great desire. The class proclaims the One True God and His son Jesus Christ and builds faith.) This suggestion hit me like a bullet and that very day I made up mind to take the class. Mr. Bhupender gave the Bible class and put a lot of effort and diligence into it. Some of the sessions are 3 hours, but it took us 6 hours [sometimes]. We asked him to explain some of the points in the class as it went along. So he labored very hard and got us ready. I am still now receiving more teaching and learning. So truly I thank God for all.

 

Then I went to Delhi to attend the leaders meeting. [The testimonies built my faith] I made up my mind to move God's Word like the others. And now I am teaching God's Word and leading fellowships. [I do a fellowship in Kalyanpoor and another place. The fellowships are growing quickly. I do one fellowship on the 2^nd Sunday of the month and another at a different location on the 1^st Sunday of the month]. The rest of the time I go to Mr. Tiwari's house. This has increased my faith and helped me to move God's Word everywhere. I am thankful to God that he chose me to speak and teach His Word.

 

God Directed Outreach: I do not preach God's Word to many people [and go] here and there. I teach to a few people only the ones the Spirit tells me to teach. They then minister to others. I am still laboring to prepare other leaders. My desire is that God's Word may reach everywhere so that all men may be saved and come to a knowledge of the True God. This is my first and great desire.  I also desire that I should labor for God as much as is in me. I have made the decision that after I retire [from the army] I can serve full-time. I want to win many people to God's Word. I want to prepare leaders and that is my prayer to God. I am glad that God has given me the leaders and I ask Him to give me many more. Again I keep praying for more leaders.

 

One leader may save lots and lots of souls. I want a leader who can win one lakh (100 thousand) people. Like this God's Word will move speedily. I thank God and I thank Mr. Bhupinder who prepared me so well.  I thank Mr. Sangat Bains who taught me in Delhi- it is through him that the Word of God came to India. And through Mr. Bhupinder it came to Kanpoor. On behalf of the leaders in Kanpoor I am thankful that we have such a great teacher who has fulfilled God's will. So I ask God that I can do His work more and more in Kanpoor. Just like Mr. Bhupinder has worked so hard for me, I should labor for the others. So I will work heartily and this is my great desire.  I would like to give a testimony.

 

I have a close relative. His wife was due to deliver a baby. She started to go into labor and they took her to the doctor. I know this doctor. The doctor phoned me to inform me that he had admitted this woman. So I talked to the doctor and he told me not to worry at all. I said OK.

 

Then in the evening I received a phone call from the doctor that the baby was breached and they would have to operate. He said he would wait fifteen or twenty minutes [for a normal delivery]. I said "don't worry, do as you think best." He also said that they might have to switch [the woman] to another hospital [to do the operation]. I simply prayed to God and said, "Oh Father God, let her have her baby in the same hospital that she is admitted and let it be a normal delivery."

 

The same doctor who had told me that he would wait fifteen minutes, waited 15 hours and the delivery was normal and in the same hospital. I received the call after 15 hours and I was of course very happy and gave thanks to God first. In this way God has been working with me.

 

I [encourage] the believers in the USA to believe in this way and God will do the same for you. Ask for leaders and He will give them to you also- just like He has given us. He will do the same for you because God is not a respecter of persons. So it is my firm desire that as God's Word has moved speedily here, it may do the same in the USA. It is my desire not only in the USA and India, but all over the world. And I thank God for all the believers from the USA who came here- they helped to increase our faith and we learned many things from them.

 

 

Sarvjeet Singh:

I am from Kanpur and I work in the Ordinance division (of the Army). I am from a Hindu background and all my family worshipped many idols. I never believed in the idols and my family used to say, "What family did you come from that you don't believe in any of our gods?" When I went to my job, many co-workers would fast on various religious holidays and I would say to them, " If (your) god has given you so much to eat, why do you fast so much?"

 

Mr. Vimal Gupta taught me the true Word of God. When he first talked to me, I did not really believe it. I used to run away from religion. I did not want to adopt Christian religion either. But Mr. Gupta told me that this is not religion. He spoke to me God's Word and I came to a knowledge of the truth. When I first started out, Mr. Bhupender and Mr. Gupta really made an effort to help me with God's Word. My desire is (now) that, just like they worked so hard for me, I too can make known God's Word like they have taught me.

 

I took God's Word and visited my in-laws. They said to me, "So you have adopted the Christian religion?" And then I told them that this is not religion, but the truth. But they did not believe. Then I thought, just like I did not believe at first maybe they should have another chance. So I went to their home and I prayed, "God just like you helped me to believe the truth, please help them also." And then they came into God's Word.

My desire is to teach God's Word in my home village (Allabad).  Mr. Bhupender and Mr. Gupta have taught me so well that I can go and teach others also. My whole [extended] family who used to worship idols now has the truth.

 

 My brother came from Allabad to hear God's Word and after leaving here, I want to speak God's Word even more. My brother now also wants to teach God's Word. I thank God and ask that I may go and strengthen those that have believed and spread God's Word more. And this is my desire to work for God. Thank you.

 

Unnamed Man 1:

I came to the truth through Vimal Gupta. We used to work in the same office. He used to teach me that out God is all powerful and strong. I did not believe. One day, I got a kidney stone and I started going to the doctor. I spent a lot of money but nothing happened. I remembered Mr. Gupta's teaching and went to see him. He took me to Mr. Tiwari's house and he ministered to me. After three days the stone passed out so I thank God for this.

 

Unnamed Man 2:

 I too came to the Word of God through Mr. Gupta. Mr. Tiwari, Mr. Gupta and Mr. Bhupender taught me the Word of God.

 

 I was very discouraged and depressed. I was also confused and did not know what to do. I had mental problems. After my marriage my wife had two babies who died at birth. Mr. Gupta told me that if I make Jesus Lord, I would get salvation. Mr. Bhupender was visiting Kanpur at the time and Mr. Gupta suggested I go see him and he would teach me many things. Fortunately, I met Mr. Bhupender that day.

 

He explained some things to me from Daniel chapter 3 and I settled them in my mind. After this I went and got my wife whom my brother in law had taken away after the second baby had died. I confessed Jesus as Lord and went and got her. In March 3, 2006 she had another baby. Mr. Bhupender and Mr. Tiwari also came to the hospital [where she had the baby]. The baby is perfectly healthy and now about 10 months old. My wife will be moving to Kanpur. My home village is in Bihar state [about 650 miles from here].

 

My mother does not fully believe yet.  However, she did not stop me. I do things very freely. (Ed. Note: In India parent's approval is greatly desired in all activities.) With my whole heart now I trust in God. I don't do anything unless I have looked to God first whether it is for something simple or major. I never stop thanking God. Today when I went home to see my mother, I heard the news that my nephew and his cousin both fell down from the roof and they were not hurt. I told my mother it was because I prayed for her and her whole house before I left. I never go anywhere without putting the entire household in God's hands. Though my mother does not believe, after seeing this miracle, she is not against my going to any fellowship as she previously was.

 

Today she asked me where I was going and when I would be home. I told her not to worry because I wouldn't know what time I would return. I am going to learn more [about the things of God].  She said, "Go freely". I ask for your prayer that my whole family would come into the truth and my neighbors also. I thank God in the name of Christ Jesus that God gave me the courage to speak in front of you all.

 

        Happy's Testimony:

(Ed Note: Happy is a young man, about twenty-two, he became a follower of the One True God seven months prior to this interview. Happy has already won many people from the Moslem culture.)

 

Hello. First I thank my God in the name of Christ Jesus. First I would like to share with you that there is a believer named Suresh who I know and it is through him I came into God's Word. He was trying to teach me God's Word, but I worshipped images. I really liked to hear God's Word.it was exciting.and I enjoyed hearing the Word.

 

I am from the Sikh background. My name is Happy. At one time I was very much in love with a particular girl and she was also in love with me. But one day her mother sent her to Delhi. This made me very sad. When this happened I was still worshipping idols. I liked the true Word, but I still kept on with my idols. So one day I decided to put my mind only on the True God. The first thing I did was to purchase the Holy Scriptures  [a Bible]. Then I attended fellowships for one month.

 

During that time, the girl with who I was in love did not call me from Delhi. So I said to God, "Father God I would very much like her to phone me." The very same day that I asked this, she phoned! I talked to her on the phone and told her that I would like to meet her and marry her. I told her I am coming [to Delhi]. But in my heart I became very worried. So I asked a bunch of my friends to come along with me, but they all turned me down.

 

Then I spoke to God [about this]. I cried very much also and looked at the Scriptures closely. Then God spoke to my heart. He said, "I am your Living God. Why are you putting your trust in man? I will go with you. Do not fear. Go alone. I will transplant you like a flower and put you near your love." Then I was very encouraged by God and extremely glad.

 

After this I got ready to go. I got some money and asked my friend to take me to the Kanpur train station. The train car that I got on was very packed and everyone was fighting for seats. My friend [who came to drop me off] was fighting to get me a seat; he was trying to get a man to move out of his seat. I told him not to fight and that if necessary, I would go all the way standing up.  Then I prayed to God, "Father, How can I go all the way standing? I would like to sit and read Your Word." Then, the very man my friend had fought with came to me and showed me an empty seat!

 

Then I reached Delhi. The girl I was going to see had told me where she lived and we agreed to meet part way. There was no way to get to her by bus or rickshaw so we had agreed to meet at the very crowded station. I was not worried that we would be able to meet. My eyes were on God. I don't know how God did it, just as I got there, (it was like a curtain being pulled back) I saw her and she saw me. The timing was incredibly perfect. Then I took her to my aunt's house and we reached there that night.

 

Vision In The Night: That night I said to God, "Father I would like to see you." At night God showed me a vision. I was in a very old place. There was a big wall and on it hung a green sheet with a gold border. There was smoke rising all around. Then when I started to look at this sheet, Arabic writing appeared on it. Upon seeing this I started to shake profusely. I bowed down and then started to say "Allah hoo Akbaar" repeatedly. I don't even know the meaning of these words. Then I said, "Father God, why am I saying, "Allah hoo Akbaar". I asked God to release me from the shaking first. He released me and I started to run. There was darkness all around. Then as I looked up into the sky there was an extremely bright light that caused me to fall to the ground. Then out of the sky I saw Jesus Christ descending like this [Happy puts his arms up]. Then I said "Thank you God, thank you God in the name of Jesus Christ. This is enough, I cannot see You, please let me go now."

 

After this the girl's mother called her to come home and I asked, "Father God, please let us be married." After about one and a half months, we were married without any complications.

 

Spirit Cast Out: Then I started to receive more teachings from Mr. Tiwari. One day there was a situation involving devil spirits. I was going on the road to fix a machine at a shop.  There were two people there talking about a girl who had a devil spirit for a long time, more than 20 years, and she is was even a Christian. I went near these two people. I asked these two people to take me to the girl and told them I could cast out the devils. They told me to shut up because I was only a young man from the Sikh background. What did I know about devil spirits? However, after about 20 minutes they took me to the girl.

 

When I saw the girl, she had a crucifix around her neck. I told her to take it off. I said, "Our Lord Christ is LIVING. Why do you want to wear a crucifix?" Just as she took off the crucifix, I said to the devil spirit, you come out too. The spirit began to laugh at me and said, "I won't go and you can't do anything to me." I said, "I command you right now in the name of Jesus Christ to get out of her." Then the girl stared into my eyes and I again commanded it to leave. Then the spirit said, "Go on, nothing has happened and you can't do anything to me."

 

Then I asked God, "Father, why is this devil spirit not leaving?" So I started to pray. There were about 28 or 30 Christian people gathered around. I prayed to God and asked Him to increase my faith. Then I again commanded the devil spirit to go out in the name of Jesus Christ and it went out. The people were amazed because they had tried to get rid of this spirit for so many years and here was a young man who did it in a couple of minutes.

 

Aunt Delivered: I have an aunt, who is now a believer, who had many devil spirits. She lives about 10-12 miles from my house. One day her daughter phoned me to say that the devil spirits have come upon my mother. She said to me, "Happy, please come and take them out of her." So I said to her, "The devil spirit is afraid of you and will have to run away. It will have to obey you." But because she was a new believer, she said, "No, no I am afraid, you come. This is why I have phoned you." So I hung up the phone and got ready to go. As I was leaving, I heard a voice say to me, "You stay here, you command from here and it will be gone from there."

 

So I phoned my aunt's house and told her daughter to put the phone to her mother's ear. As she gave her the phone, my aunt began to curse and swear. I told her, "In the name of Jesus Christ, shut your mouth." And she became quiet. And then I commanded the devil spirit to go out of her body immediately. Then that devil spirit went out and another one came and said, "We are many." 

 

I said, "Are you higher than God? This moment, I command ALL of you to go out in the name of Jesus Christ." They began to say, "Please forgive us. Can you do something to give us salvation?" I said, "Stop fooling around, and get out all of you." Then they all went out. In this way God helped me to cast out many devil spirits.

 

Outreach To Moslems: One day, I prayed, "Father God, I would like to teach your Word among the Moslem people." Then God showed me a vision of many Moslem people sitting around me and I was standing among them teaching. Everyone was holding their hands in prayer and saying, "Thank-you Father God in the name of Jesus Christ." So God showed me this and then gave me the opportunity to bring some families to God's Word. (When one family started to come, so did others.) So this work has already started.

 

Another prayer of mine is to preach God's Word in Nepal. God again showed me a vision of three or four people from Nepal sitting around me as I explained God's Word to them." So, several of us have plans to go to Nepal next month. I thank God in the name of Jesus Christ for opening the doors. I have many testimonies and my entire family and relatives are believers now. I thank my Father God and I want to do much work for Him. Just as simply as I have received the things of God, you too ask can God to give to you. It is very simple. God will do for you because God does not lie. I thank God and may God bless you. (Ed. Note: Since this leaders meeting in January of 2007 Happy has visited Nepal and outreach in that country has already commenced.)

 

Muta Shukla's Testimony:

I came into God's Word through my husband. My sister-in-law was pregnant so we took her to the hospital. We went there after having prayed, "Father God, we are taking my sister in law to the hospital and let her not have to have and operation." When we got there, the first thing the doctor said was, "She will need an operation." However, I had faith that God would give me what I had asked for, so I sternly said to the doctor, "I am not going to allow you to operate". Then he suggested that they do an ultrasound. Once the doctor did the ultrasound, he said that the baby was dead in the womb. Then when we came back [from the place where we did the ultrasound], the doctor said that he would have to do an operation because the baby was dead.

 

However, my faith was still in God. So I discharged her from that hospital and took her to another hospital and we prayed to God. After four hours the baby was born perfectly healthy without any operation. The baby was alive. [Woman starts clapping for joy and thankfulness].

Manorma's Testimony:

 I had severe pain my in feet due to Polio. I received some relief after going to doctors, but I still had much pain and my feet were always shaking. After hearing Word of God from Mr. Tiwari, he ministered healing to me. At that very moment my foot was completely healed and I felt that it was relaxed. And today there is no pain. I thank the Heavenly Father for this.

 

Kavita's Testimony:

I believed the first time I heard the Word of God. There was an eight-year-old boy who had pain in his leg. He received healing from Kamlesh [Mr. Tiwar's brother]. I too had a problem. I used to take medicine and now I have stopped medicine and stay healthy. Any problem I have, I look to God.

 

Kamali's Testimony:  My son had a growth on his neck (goiter) for 5 years. I went to fellowship and heard the Word of God. I believed and became born again. I heard in this fellowship that a woman with a disease like her son was healed. This woman had had the disease for 15 years. I went home and commanded the swelling to go away in the name of Jesus Christ and my son was healed. [The son stands up and shows how his neck has no swelling].

 

Tiwari comments: Mr. Tiwari explained that this woman did this miracle even before she spoke in tongues (Ed. Note: As in the book of Acts, whenever one of these new saints becomes born again, it is normative for them to speak in tongues. If it does not happen immediately, it does eventually. Tiwari did not do so for a year-and-half, but that experience is quite rare. Speaking in tongues in this body of believers is a personal experience they utilize in private prayer life, not for public display.) He said that when he teaches God's Word he tells the people that when they confess Jesus Christ as lord, they become the children of God and they have the authority. He tells them "Go heal in his name and go cast out devils and it will be done." People believe this and do it and bring deliverance and their faith grows.  He wants everyone to do this and not think that he (Tiwari) is the only one that can do it.

 

Kamali continues:  I shared the word with my family for 2 hours.  After this I continued to pray for them since they lived far away. Later I heard that their boy was very sick. They had to pay 200 Rupees daily (Ed. Note: About $2.50, a major expense for an Indian family) for his medicine. One day the woman phoned me to say that they would like to come and see me. I asked why and she said that my boy is feeling very bad. They wanted me to take him to Mr. Tiwari's house.

So when they came to hour house, the first thing we did was to teach them God's Word. We then led them to the new birth and put them in Christ's hand.

 

The boy [who was sick] hadn't eaten anything for the last 10 days not even a cookie or milk. They asked how could this boy be [delivered]? How can this work take place, please tell us? We told them that for God, nothing is too hard. After praying, I gave the boy a biscuit dipped in tea to eat. He ate three biscuits! The mother started to cry. I told her, just wait and see, he will eat more in 10 minutes. The boy then ate three plates of food. Then the mother and boy started to laugh. So we all gave thanks to God. Now they are both in the Word of God and the boy is completely healthy.

Through hearing about this miracle, ten people came to know the True God.

 

Ken asks, "How long has this couple been Christians?"  Woman replies, "We have been in to the truth for 16 months". For the first three months we were very happy. Then some devil spirit scratched up my husband, all over his body. This went on for ten months, but we did not lose faith. Also I had pain in my leg for three months. My husband's elder brother died during that time, but we did not lose faith. A child of one of my relatives died also, but we did not lose faith. God wants us to stay fixed upon Him. We have come out as more than conquerors through all these things. My husband was healed and so was I. Our faith is strong.

 

Shanti's Testimony:

Ed. Note: Shanti is a woman who runs a large home fellowship in the mountains attended by over 200 people. Until March of this year Shanti was illiterate. She told God that she was tired of only teaching what she heard others teach and she wanted to be able to read His Holy Word. Ram Singh the leader in the mountains gave her a bible. After praying, Shanti opened the bible and was able to read it. Shanti is in her late forties. Life in the mountains is primitive, difficult and very dangerous with death a daily occurrence. Shanti is very much a no nonsense believer, she is all business. Through her ministry with the help of Gulab Sing, Vijay Singh and other leaders the medical professions in the local towns are greatly losing business. When you read this account you will see why.

 

First I want to thank God from the bottom of my heart. I thank God that He is with us all. And I am very thankful for Mr. Sangat and Mr. Gulab Singh for ministering God's Word to me. This Word of God has taught me the truth and I am thankful for what Gulab Singh has taught me. Before this I knew nothing about God. Once I came to know about the True God, there have been many miracles in my life. Of a truth, God is a

God of peace and patience. Mr. Sangat Bains and Mr. Gulab Singh have brought to our lives this most beautiful Word of God.

 

A Faithful God: One day in spring, I was getting ready to go to the birth of a baby to which I had been invited. Two men came to my door and said, "Sister, we bring you terrible news. We have a relative who is in serious condition." I asked the name of this relative, and I found out his name and that he was from Deradhun.  I remembered that this man had come to God's Word last year, but he had not stood on it. He had left it behind for one year. Since he had left the Word of God, he was in very much trouble.

 

There was something seriously wrong with him. He felt like his body was burning all over. This man's family had admitted him to the hospital and these men were now telling me all the problems he was having. I was listening very attentively. They said to me, "Sister, if you will pray for him, perhaps our relative will be saved." I said," He has left his faith behind, but not to worry, if God wants me to pray for him, I will pray." No one was ready to believe with this man in his family. But I was ready to believe for this man. At night, when they admitted him to the hospital, he was not able to breathe and they put him on oxygen. This man was about to die. The Dr. said to him, "Your end is near" and he gave him some religious artifact [ Ed. Note: similar to a rosary] so he could "say his final prayers". When the Dr. gave him this, the man was hardly breathing and was almost unconscious.

 

Around 9:30 PM, I ministered healing to this man from my house. I had prayed to God and commanded the sickness to go away from him. I prayed to God, "O Father, of a truth You are all powerful. Father, forgive him for what he has done; Father, give him a new life and save him from this death." The next morning around 6 AM, this man felt that someone had spoken to him on the inside (at 9:30 PM the night before). This voice on the inside had said, "O God please save me." He had heard this voice from inside his body at the same time I had ministered healing to him.

 

 In the morning, the doctors were surprised to see him well since at night he was ready to die. His hands were normal (no more burning). The doctors said what kind of miracle caused this? At that time he did not say anything, but later he said that someone had healed him in the night. God put it on his mind that he should come to my house, but the doctors would not let him go. Another believer in his town recognized that he had been delivered and yet the doctors were not letting him go. So this believer prayed that the doctors would let him go. So God did something and he was allowed to leave the hospital.

 

Touching all the Bases: I had also prayed, "Father he was saved by You, so please bring him in front of me." He came to my house from Deradhun . When he came to my house I was so blessed to see him and I thanked God. At that time, one of his legs and one of his arms was still not well. I asked him what was going on and he said that he could not put weight on one of his legs. I told him, "Recall from what situation God saved you. You were on oxygen and look what God did. Don't look to the medicines, but look to God only and he will heal your leg. If you will have faith, you will be able to walk perfectly on that leg." The next time I saw him, he was perfectly whole. He said that he was so thankful that God had saved him and given him a new life.

 

Before this, no one in Deradhun knew the truth. He made up his mind to do God's work in that town. Then I was so happy and I said, "O God thank-you for giving such a person to work for You." And then I shared more of God's Word with him. He said that he wanted to learn more of God's Word and I told him that he should take the [Bible] class. "If you want to preach God's Word, the first thing you must do is take this class." So he started taking the class and I told him that God will start working with you that very day. So I really thank God.  I have one more testimony.

 

The Dead Raised: I have a sister who is a believer and she is faithful. (This testimony is from last year). She has a daughter who is 20 years old. This daughter used to have a regular job, but she only has a little bit of faith. One day when she finished her work, she went and sat near a temple. She was sitting near the temple and she ate some cookies. As she ate the cookie a part of it fell on the ground. Because she was so near the temple, she felt bad that the cookie fell down. [Ed. Note: many Indians believe that it is a sin to waste food]. She thought within herself that something terrible will happen to me. And, sure enough, just as she feared, something did happen and she fainted and fell down in front of the temple. All the people saw that she was unconscious. They brought her to her house. That evening her house was full of a crowd, some believers some unbelievers. Her mother said, "Let's call Shanti from her house." The daughter was still unconscious and the mother wanted to call me right away.

 

So [after I got the call], I went to her house. When I saw the crowd of people I said to her, there are some here who know God's Word and some who don't so if you want me to heal your daughter, first of all clear everyone out. (Ed. Note: This is clearly a biblical principle of healing. Jesus too cleared the room of unbelief before he ministered healing.) So she made all the people leave. Then I said, "Now I will heal this girl." When I first looked at the girl, she was not breathing and her teeth were tightly clenched together. Also her hands and legs were cold. There was no sign of life in her. The mother was very afraid and the father was also in terribly fearful state.

 

 So I said to them, "I will minister to her later, but I want you two to listen to what I have to say first." I said to them that if you continue to be afraid, the devil is going to attack you also. However, if you have faith, your daughter will wake up right now. I told her husband, remember that your wife was blind last year and she was healed. (Ed Note: Apparently, this woman had given this testimony last year about her deliverance from blindness by Shanti ministering to her).  So I told him, "See what miracles God has already done. God gave sight to your wife who was blind and He will take care of your daughter also. I want your faith. If you both believe right now, your daughter will be healed." Then they said with faith, "We believe that she will be healed as you say. We believe she will be completely healed when you minister to her." (Ed. Note: This is another principle basic to receiving healing, faith. Shanti took the time to remind the couple of God's previous miracle thereby taking their minds off the senses evidence and building faith in God.)

 

Then I gave the girl healing and commanded her in the name of Jesus Christ to be made whole. Her teeth were still clenched and her mother said, "I want to give her some water to drink." But when her mother tried to give her some water, she could not because the girl's teeth were clenched. (This apparently made the mother worried.)  Even when I had ministered healing to her, the girl had remained unconscious. I then told her parents that you do not believe rightly. I said to them, "Believe rightly." I told them, "Watch, I will give her water to drink in front of you."

 

I did nothing except put my fingers on her mouth. As I did, she opened her mouth. Then I told the parents that she has drunk the water. I told the parents, "If you are still worried, watch, I will speak to her."  I asked the girl how she was feeling and the girl replied, "Auntie, I feel like things are spinning a little."  I said, "Don't worry dear, you are fine, the spinning has stopped - just believe that you are completely healed."

 

The crowd of people who were outside had been saying that the parents should take the girl to the hospital. They were amazed to see her awake because they had seen that the girl was dead. They wondered how this could happen. So I truly thank my Father God for what He has done. He has truly declared: "All things are possible to them that believe."

 First of all God wants us to have patience and peace. We should know the True Word of God and hold it tightly.

 

Peter Paul:

 Ed. Note: Peter, unlike most of the saints you have read about was raised Christian. His father is and has been a great minister of the Word of God in the Punjab region of India for many decades. Peter is Sangat's brother-in-law.

First I would like to thank you all. To see everyone here brings me great happiness. My name is Peter and I am from Gurgaon. [He introduces his wife, daughter and son]. I am very happy to see everyone in this fellowship and to see all the believers from Kanpur and other places. To see everyone and to hear all that I have heard has inspired me greatly and given me great joy.

 

We cannot hide anything from God. No matter what we are doing He sees all. I would like to share one testimony with you. From this I hope you will see how people are here are walking with God and practicing the Word of God. This is only a small testimony.

 

Financial Deliverance: This is a story of about three months ago. At that time, I was in much despair, because I had started a business, which was not making any profit. Everyday I was suffering one kind of loss or another. A day came when the damage went beyond my reach. My family and I used to pray to God and ask, "What is going on? If we have done something sinful, God, please tell us." The thing that I want to tell you is this, that anyone who has made Jesus Christ lord, God sees his every teardrop and God is saddened by it. This hurts God very much because He sees that His son is sad. When we pray, God sees that His son or daughter is unhappy and sad.

 

There was another man who was with me and we were praying together at that time when we were suffering such loss.{Peter starts crying at this point. apologizes. but everyone gently encourages him.} This man who was with me also prayed and we both cried. Up until then, neither one of us had ever cried, because we had never faced such a dire situation before. That day, God showed us that when anyone of His children is sad, He is also sad.

 

I thank God very much that, a few days after this, God gave a solution to the problem we were having.  A man came to me and said, "You have started this business and I would like to take it from you. I need this work." We had prayed to God that someone who really needed it would take this business. After we had suffered such loss in this business, we had looked to sell it, but could not find anyone to buy it. But now, God had sent a person who was actually begging me to sell him the business! He had joined hands [in a gesture of pleading] and said, "Please sir, sell me this business! I am younger than you are, please give it to me and I will give you your asking price."

 

That day I realized that sometimes the circumstances discourage us because the situation is out of our control. Our mind is unable to think. I truly thank God that God rescued us from this terrible situation. After I started this business, I felt that I like I was in the grasp of Satan himself. In the morning I used to go to my regular job and in the evening I used to check on the business. Because of all this [stress], my blood pressure became very low. It felt like I would blow over with the slightest wind. Even when I lay down, I felt like I would fall. But God wiped away my every single tear. He completely delivered me from that terrible situation- how He sent that man who decided to take over the business so I did not have to worry about a thing.

 

 There had been another buyer who had come before this man, but he did not want to pay the full price for the business. But this man who finally bought my business, I did not know at all- I had only met him once in the elevator of the apartment in which I live. It turned out that he was a friend of the first man who was interested in the business. He did all the arrangements for purchasing the business without the first man's involvement [the man who did not want to pay full price!] Sometimes we have no idea how God blesses us.

 

The current owner of the business is very happy with the work and he often says to me that God gave him the business from me! The business is now prospering and someone has said to me, "Why did you sell him the business?" But I know that God has taken me out of great difficulty. Sometimes we get involved in things according to our will, but it is not God's will for us. But God has His own purpose for us.

 

And now I will share what Mr. Sangat asked me about [i.e. what I want to do for God]. Actually, I have shared my desire for what I want to do for God with some of you. I have said to God, "God I have worked in a regular job for 22 years. The rest of my life I want to work in Your name.

However, when I look at the circumstances and when I look at my family responsibilities I keep backing out of doing this. But I have been encouraged [by Sangat] that if I make up my mind [to serve], all the responsibilities and needs I have, God will take care of them. But if I look at the five senses, it is very difficult for me. But my heart really desires to work for God so for this reason I beg all of your prayers that God will fulfill this desire.

 

 I have already decided that I do not want to work my regular job, but I want to give my life to God. All my responsibilities toward my family I put into God's hands. But without your prayers, it is impossible. With prayer much is possible. If all of you will pray for me, then God will hear my prayer sooner! If for one person many pray, God does the work faster [he said this tongue-in-cheek]. God knows we are all His people belonging to

His family. We should all pray for one another.

 

Ram SinghTestimony:

(Ed.Note: Ram Singh is the leader in the mountain region. He became a believer when he was a Hindu and working as a chef in a restaurant and met Bhupender. The rest, as they say, is history.)

There is a district near me where I go to speak God's Word. We do a home fellowship there and a man comes from 8 or 9 km's away whose name is Anand. One day he gave a testimony. He said that he was doing some construction work. As he was working a man came who was a pundit [these men are like soothsayers, or religious Hindu priests]. This pundit said to him [mockingly], "So now you have become a Christian?" Anand then said within himself, "God, he is not talking to me, but talking to You." Anand decided that he would not say anything to the pundit, but that God would speak to him. This pundit wanted to fight with Anand, but he did not want to fight. He gave everything into God's hands.

 

Soon another person joined them and this person was a relative of the pundit. He said to Anand, "Why are you not fighting back? This man is cursing you so much?" Anand said, "God is with me and if He were not, I would have broken his teeth. Since I came to know the truth and became a son of God, I will not speak. I will just thank God." After Anand said that, the two men started to fight with each other. (Ed. Note: This is an example of devil spirits fighting one another. An account similar to this is in Acts 19 with the seven sons of Sceca.)

 

Anand had previously said that he would not fight or speak to the pundit, but that God would answer for him. As the pundit started to leave, his own relative pulled him back and said, "Where are you going?" This angered the man and he ended up breaking his jaw from fighting.  He picked up a big stick and hit the pundit on the head.  Anand related how he had not said a thing, but that God fought the battle for him. Anand then said to his co-workers, "See how God fights and works for me?"

 

Madhan Mohan Testimony:

I thank God and I thank all my brothers and sisters that I can stand before you all and through all of you I was saved. My name is Madhan Mohan. I am from Utranchal Pardesh. I live in a mountain area. In Utranchal area, there is a big problem with devil spirits and idol worship. For fourteen years I was in a terrible state because of these devil spirits. My daughter and wife were also in such a sorry state that all the world used to come and look at us like we were some circus sideshow. Black magic people came to our house to try to get red of the spirits. I gave all the money I had to various people [who tried to help], but we got no results.

 

One day I decided that nothing is happening here [in my village] and perhaps I should go the village of Teeri to see if someone can help [with magic]. I reached the village where I have a brother in Christ, Roshan Lal, who was in the Word. Mr. Ram Singh had already taught him God's Word of truth. (In my village no one even knew that there was any Truth.)  So when I got to Teeri, they asked me why I was in so much despair. I had traveled there by foot and my eyes were red from crying. It had taken me days to walk the 18 miles to this village and I looked terrible.

 

So Roshan Lal told me that nothing would happen with black magic from here also. He told me that on the 18^th of March there would be a fellowship at Ram Singh's house and I should go there. However, the situation was so bad that I was unsure that if I went home, I would find my wife [alive].  When I listened to Ram Singh teach God's Word, I believed it, but I was not sure that my wife would be still alive when I went home. Then Ram Singh told me, "I give you a 1000% guarantee that nothing is going to happen to your wife." So from that day I started to believe God's Word and it brought peace and blessings.

 

When I came into the truth, the devil spirits started to manifest themselves. About two or three months ago, the devil spirit came into my wife and she fell to the ground and her eyes closed. She said she was going to die and she wanted to hold my daughter's hand for the last time. All the people in my village are very superstitious so one said call up on this god or goddess, another said call upon the other god or goddess. I told them I am in the truth and I don't call upon gods or goddesses. I told them that even if my whole family perished I would not call upon these gods, but upon the True God only. [Ed. Note: Don't you love these saints.]

 

So my family was completely delivered and I am so thankful. I am so full of joy that I believe I can single-handedly bring all of the people in my district to God's Word. I have a request to all the believers, my teachers and to Mr. Sangat that you would pray for me that our whole hearts would be toward God and that with my whole heart I spread God's Word in my entire village. Thank you all.

 

Ram Kishore Gautum:

My name is Ram Kishore Gautum and I am from Fatehpur in Andhra Pardesh. At this time I live in Kanpur and work in Fatehpur. I work for the PAC (Police department). The work of the PAC is such that I am on call 24 hours a day. I came into the truth (of God and his Word) on 11^th December 2005.

 

My wife was sick all the time. My elder brother came to know the truth and he spoke to my wife. Just by hearing God's Word, she became whole. As we came to know God's power and might, I started to believe. I started to pray to God everyday and all my difficulties vanished. My desire was that I get to meet the ones who spoke the truth to my brother. I kept inviting Mr. Bhupender and Mr. Tiwari to Fatehpur to meet them. Both of them said," We cannot come to your house. You should ask God for this. You must do some work for this to happen." (Ed. Note: Bhupender and Tiwari wanted this saint to look to God to expand the work not man.)

 

My thought was, "I work 24/7 and how can I bring them to my house? Eight months passed like this. Whenever I used to wake up in the morning, the first thing I asked God was, "God please send me some hungry soul that through that person, the Fatehpur district can come to know the Truth. And God, please hurry, because my work is such that I can be transferred anywhere." In September 2006, I met that hungry soul. This was a woman to whom I ministered healing. She was ready to die. She had many sicknesses- typhoid, dengue and a high fever- one on top of the other. [It happened this way]. One of my brothers in the force phoned me about this girl- she was his daughter. I ministered healing to her over the phone and she was delivered.

 

And God then opened a door. This man [whose daughter was healed] took me the next day to another place where I also ministered healing to someone. This man was suffering from paralysis and was delivered. These people said to me that I should call those who taught me God's Word because they wanted to meet with them. So I invited Mr. Tiwari. Mr. Tiwari came on the first Sunday in November and we had fellowship. Two times we met for fellowship at the house of the man who was healed of paralysis, but in his house no one really believed. I had no other place where I could do fellowship.

 

There was going to be a large fellowship on the 20^th of January so I planned to do it at the same location where we had the other two fellowships. However, on the 3^rd of January, the people of that house cancelled [saying that they could not do fellowship there]. It was not possible to do fellowship at my house so my wife asked me what I would do. So I put the problem in front of God and said to God, "You will give me a place and in fact, You have already given it." And within two days, God gave me a second place to do fellowship. And that is where we did a fellowship and those people believed whole-heartedly.

 

Prior to this these people used to worship the Invisible God, but they did not know the Son of God. Since 1984 they worshipped this Invisible God, but not knowing the Son, they could not see any works happening. They were in a very bad state. But I taught them God's Word for four days. Then a man named Ram Singh heard that if you ask anything in the name of the Son of God, you will be given it, he was very blessed. He declared that as long as he lived, he would do fellowship in his house. So God has spread His Word in Fatehpur through me and I give Him much thanks.

 

My desire is that for my whole life I may give glory to God's name. I have given Him my life and my whole life I want to work for God. Since I have a job that has me on call 24/7, I don't have any time. But somehow, God daily gives me eight hours time during which I work for God.I have many testimonies to give, but I will just give one.

One night I was on duty at my work from 9 to 12. I told one person about the truth of God's Word. He knew nothing about the things of God. While was teaching this one man, another one came and stood next to me. Until 11:15 that night they continually listened to God's Word. I told them that it is 100% guaranteed that if you believe God's Word your work will be done. Four days later the man came to me and said that my feet have falaria and asked if they can be healed. [FALARIA is an infectious parasite endemic to much of the developing world. Transmitted by mosquitoes, the worms live in the lymphatic system, causing the blood vessels to enlarge. Diethlycarbamazine citrate can kill the microfilaria, but not always the adult worm. Falaria causes river blindness, elephantiasis and Loa.

I told him to have faith and that I would minister healing to him and he would be fine. So I ministered healing to him and his falaria disappeared. He then asked me to his house and his daughter also had the same disease. She also believed and was healed. So God has done great things in my life and I give thanks to my Father God.

Sangat did the work of an apostle in bringing light to the country of India. Bhupender as an evangelist brought that light to specific individuals who taught saints the "how" of winning others. The ministers perfected (equipped) the saints to do the work of the ministry and the saints built up of the body.  All this was done without foreign missionaries or outside financing. There was no mass evangelism; it was all one on one. Here is the progression recorded in just these few pages. It has been repeated hundreds of times throughout the home fellowships of India. In the meetings where these testimonies were recorded one individual, a plumber from Kanpur was responsible for (in two years) the conversion of over two thousand people.

The Testimony of a very determined woman: Jan Booze

I thought I would share with you something that has happened in my life today, that has me thrilled to pieces! I can walk!!!  Now I know that may cause you to scratch your head, but here are the details.  Walking for the past two months has been so painful that it sometimes moved me to tears.  Today, I got out of bed and walked across the room before I realized what I had done.  I had walked without ANY pain.

 

A little background: Two and a half years ago, the day after I arrived home from our Healing weekend in Oracle, Arizona. (Ed. Note: Ken and Darlene Petty's home), my left knee became swollen to the size of a grapefruit.  I couldn't even go to work; navigating stairs was out of the question.  My knee would not so much as bend and could hold no any weight.   It wasn't the first time I had had problems with my knee so I decided to go to see and orthopedic doctor to find out what was going on.  (Two years ago, I was still in the I got to know what it is frame of mind.  Thank God that He is patient and kind and helps us grow no matter how ignorant we may be.)

 

When I went to the doctor, X-rays were taken and the doctor was absolutely amazed that I was able to EVEN walk without pain because arthritis had deteriorated both knee joints.  It was literally bone against bone.  Actually the knee that was not swollen was worse than the knee that was.  The swollen knee was more painful because it had also a torn meniscus. 

 

The doctor said that I would be a candidate for knee replacement surgery in a short time.  He was very apologetic and sorry to give me that news because after all, there is no known cure for arthritis. I remember looking at the X-rays and then looking him in the eye and saying, "I won't need surgery.  My knees are going to be just fine.  The arthritis will soon be gone." Strangely enough, he did not argue with me but just looked at me like I had a bad case of denial on top of everything else. 

 Isaiah 54:17:

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper, and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

 

This weapon (arthritis) may have been formed against me but the Word of God promised that it would not prosper IF I would condemn it.   I had the righteousness of God in Christ and it was time for me to take a stand to see this situation change. So, that is what I began doing that each day, standing on my righteousness in Christ and condemning the arthritis in my knees.

 

The doctor had told me that I should stick to swimming as my primary form of exercise so as to use my knee joints as little as possible.  Well, I guess if I believed that the joints were going to continue to degenerate, I would have done that.  But, instead, I went out and bought some new shoes for walking on the track and I put in 3 to 5 miles a day on my breaks and lunch hour at work.  I would usually walk alone so that as I walked, I could praise God for His goodness and His healing that was regenerating my knee joints and I could also talk to my knees and tell them to come into line with the Word of God.  I must admit that there were times that I must have looked like a full-fledged loon walking around the middle school track in the blazing summer sun, wearing business clothes and sneakers, muttering to myself. Those sessions really helped build the Word of God in me regarding my healing.

 

I now realize that it was not beneficial for me to SEE the x-rays and to SEE the extent of the damage to my joints because that is the picture that I had to replace with a picture of health.  It really took some time for me to do that because the image was so vivid in my mind's eye.  We need to be careful what we look at because the enemy is ever ready to use it against us at every opportunity.  I avoided TV and radio (commercials about arthritis, pain-killers, etc), and I would not watch movies that dealt with sickness or disease.  I avoided spending time with people who complained about being sick with no desire to be healed.  I avoided newspaper articles about the rising cost of health care and diseases that were attacking people in the 50+ age group.  The reasons to become discouraged were everywhere as were the enticements to ingest them.

 

When I came to Oracle a year later, Darlene Petty ministered to my knees. We actually felt something move in the left knee, the one that had been swollen.  I believe that the torn meniscus in that knee was healed when Darlene ministered to me. I continued walking and I continued my confession sessions all last summer as well.  My knees were getting better and better and the pain was decreasing bit by bit.  I rarely had to take anything for pain or inflammation once I learned that I could actually SPEAK to the knees and command the pain to leave.  Mark 11:23 really works!  Later, I was to go through a period where the pain became so intense that the thought of walking moved me to tears.  But then I would command the pain to leave and command my knees to function in the name of Jesus Christ and I would have relief with no side effects, except, of course, for joy.

 

During this time, I spent every available moment filling my head with the Word of God on healing. I listened to the Keith Moore teachings on the healings of the gospels, numerous times. Whenever I was in the car alone, a healing teaching was playing.  I got up in the morning and listened to the records on the healings.  I read the records over and over again.  I had to get it into my head and heart that healing for this particular affliction was available for ME.  Until I got there, I would not be completely healed.  Some things that I needed to get into my heart were:

 

·        EVERY person that ever came to Jesus Christ was healed.

·        Jesus NEVER told someone that they needed to suffer just a little longer and then they would be healed.

·        The Lord often asked the person who came to be healed to do something that they could not do before they were ministered to. 

·        In MOST cases, Jesus Christ told the person that THEIR faith was what made them whole.

·        I could not earn a healing; I would receive it by grace because of the loving sacrifice that Jesus Christ had already made.

·        My healing was already paid for and I would need to TAKE it.

·        I had to hold the Word of God higher than any senses evidence, including x-rays, prognosis, pain, etc.  Until I did that, I would be derailed in my journey to healing by the lying signs of the enemy.

·        The greatest thing that I needed to realize is that God loved ME and He wanted ME to be healed.

·        Jesus Christ took those stripes for ME.  I know that those stripes were way more painful than what

·        I was experiencing and so I would not count them null and void.

·        Finally, I knew in my heart that I could and would be healed completely and totally by holding fast to the Word of God.

 

Pain Worsens: In the meantime, the pain got worse and worse, I was constantly rebuking it and it was making me weary. Finally, it occurred to me that sickness and disease were defeated at Calvary so I shouldn't be entertaining them in my life right now!  I also realized that I did not need to keep fighting this thing.  It was time for the battle to end and I needed to be free.  I'm sure that was available two years ago but my faith wasn't there yet in this particular area.  Since we are healed according to our faith, not according to God's power. I had received to date the amount of healing I believed for.  It is not that God was holding back, it's that I was not receiving all that He had to offer me. 

 

This past Sunday, Ron ministered to me.  After he ministered, I didn't feel anything or experience any sensations. After a few minutes, I stood up and declared, "By the stripes of Jesus Christ, I am healed."  That scripture had become living and real to me.  I knew that with each stripe he took, he experienced my pain and then he carried that all away.  So I absolutely did not need to carry any more pain.  As I began to walk, I felt pain but the pain was different somehow.  That's when I finally understood something.  I was healed but the enemy was going to try to make me feel like I was not healed so that I would be discouraged and give up.

 

THIS pain was a lie!  Father brought to mind Romans 12:1-2 -- that I was not to be conformed to this world (the pain.)  So, I forced myself to walk as normally as possible, without the visible limp that had developed to compensate for the pain.  Man did that hurt!  But I refused to confess or audibly acknowledge that it hurt.  I also refused to take any drugs so that I would not be tricked into thinking that I was better because of the drugs.   I constantly talked to my legs and knees and told them what they were to do. 

 

Every day at work, for the past three days, I would go for a one mile walk with a co-worker.  She noticed, "Hey, you're not limping!"  I told her, "Yep, my knees are all healed up."  (I had told her I was sore from my weight workouts at the gym, which was part of the problem but not all of it.  I refused to confess disease.)  Little did she know, it hurt just as much but I wasn't going to conform to the pain.  My knees were going to conform to the Word of God!

 

After three days of forcing my legs to walk normally, working out at the gym as if I had normal knee joints and forcing myself to go where I didn't want to go because it hurt so much, something happened. I believed that I was healed when Ron ministered though I still felt the pain.  But this morning when I got up, I was so used to walking normally again that I didn't notice that I was walking that way without making a conscious effort to do so.  The mornings were usually the toughest because the joints had been immobile all night. But I had NO PAIN!!!  I was not conformed to this world, I was finally transformed by the renewing of my mind to prove that good and acceptable and perfect will of God!

I am SOOOO excited!  When we take God at His Word, He brings it to pass!  The more faith we have in the Word, the better and faster it will work on our behalf.  But God is so gracious and merciful and He doesn't browbeat us for not believing as much as we could.  But he also doesn't baby us and heal us in spite of our unbelief.   He carefully guides us and allows us to hold His hand as we go through the rough spots and leads us to a place of peace and joy.

 

I am ecstatic today.  I can walk and it doesn't hurt! But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength.  They shall mount up with wings as eagles.  They shall run and not be weary and they shall walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 This is a verse that I used to say because it was a familiar memory verse I would say while running and it was also a verse that would help me make it to the finish line of some of those grueling runs.  That verse has a whole new meaning for me today and my love for God has grown by great leaps and bounds.  He truly loves us so much and will lead us out of whatever darkness we are in to see His glorious light, if we will refuse to fear but trust Him and Him alone.

 

 

Healing from Cancer: Lee Pemberton

This is my testimony of the physical healing I received from God between the spring of 2006 and March of 2007. I share this for 2 reasons: first, to help others see that they can have faith in God to receive healing and that He can heal us right now, absolutely. The second is to give thanks and glory to my heavenly Father for all His goodness, patience and loving kindness to me. He really does care for us; He certainly has cared for me.

 

From Romans 8:37 and I Thessalonians 5:18, we know that God has made us more than conquerors through Christ Jesus, and He desires us to be thankful "in" all things. As more than conquerors we, His children, can be thankful even in the most dreadful of situations. We are to be anxious for nothing, nothing.  Instead we are to cast all our care upon Him. We do this with all confidence and thanksgiving, knowing that He will absolutely take care of everything we ask, and as a bonus, He also gives us His peace to guard our hearts and minds (I Peter 5:7, Philippians 4:6,7). That is what faith is- just going to God knowing and expecting Him to take care of whatever we need simply because He says He will and He loves us.

 

God has stated very clearly in His Word that, above all things, He wants us to be in health and to prosper, and that by Jesus Christ's stripes we were (past tense) healed (III John 2, I Peter 2:24). Paul declared to the church at Corinth that many were sick and dying young because they just did not understand what was the significance of the broken body of Jesus as represented by the bread of communion- that Jesus' broken body was for our healing. These are God's words, and I needed to make the decision to believe them or not, to trust God  or not, to have faith in God or not. These are God's promise made to me, to us. Did I truly believe what God has said, and could I rest in these promises? This was the decision that I now had to make in and for my life.

 

I had a small, insignificant mole on my lower back. It had been there for many years, and as I could not see it I never really thought about it. I had other moles and such, so what was one more?  Then, in  the spring of 2006, I noticed the mole was undergoing some strange changes. Although I could not see this mole, I could feel it, and something was going on.

 

I need to give a little of my back ground so you can understand my thoughts on the matter. I have a medical background and a degree in biology. I am also a Master Herbalist and have spent the last 20 or so years doing counseling with people who wish to use natural means to bring about physical healing in their lives. I have dealt with people who have had cancer and other serious conditions. I have worked with people who have died even when using both natural and medical treatments. Most of these people were Christians, as was I. I would often pray with them and tell them that I knew it was God's will for them to be well, but other than that I had nothing else to give them. I was a Christian with lots of worldly knowledge; I even had quite a bit of biblical knowledge, but very little power. I was the kind of Christian that, for the most part, is typical in western Christianity today.

 

So when this mole began to change I was well aware of a very serious condition taking place and understood the possible consequences. I resorted to my knowledge of herbs and used a black salve that will attack malignant cells but will do nothing to normal healthy cells. When I applied it to the mole it reacted violently. The pain and swelling went deep into my hip tissues, and I knew this thing was far bigger than just that little mole I could feel.  After a few weeks I tried the black salve again, this time certain that there would be no reaction, certain that it had done its job and the malignant cells were gone. Surprise, surprise, it reacted again with the same intensity. In a  few more weeks I used the salve again with the same reaction. I knew I was in trouble.

 

My husband said I needed to go see a doctor. I said I didn't want to, but I knew there was a serious situation going on in my body.  I did not want to hear words from doctors that would tear down my faith rather than build it up.  I would have to deal with those negative words in my mind, and I already was having to deal with my own negative thoughts and doubts and yes, at times, fears.  I was not denying the problem existed, but I did deny its right to be in my body. I knew I belonged to God, and I had been bought with a price.

 

From the beginning I knew that God said in His Word that He would heal me, and I knew I needed to look to God to get well. I never once doubted. Nor did I allow myself, to lose sight of that truth. I decided I would tell no one about this. I did not need to deal with doubtful and fearful words from others. I needed to hear only God's words. Besides my husband, I did tell Michael and Marsha Fitzgerald because I knew they would feed me God's Word to build my faith.  I knew they would minister God's healing to me.

 

During the past year or so before this developed, I had been privileged to hear teachings by Sangat Bains (a minister from India). I also had been reading a booklet that had in it both his teaching "Look Only to God" and Michael Fitzgerald's "Letters from India". The latter is a compilation of writings and e-mails from Sangat to Michael on the great power of God taking place in India where people are being healed and delivered in a mighty way. I knew that it was God's will for me to be completely healed and healed right then. Reading these greatly encouraged me.

 

I was ministered to on 3 occasions. Physically I could not tell if I were healed or not. Things surely did not look good.  This was not a headache or some cold, this was a serious thing that could take my life. My husband again said he wanted me to see a doctor, and I finally said OK, not really wanting to. By now this was late summer, early fall of 2006, and the busy doctor could not see me until March of 2007. This gave me many months to spend with my heavenly Father, and He taught me so much about His love for me and how to trust Him.  I needed to learn to look to God and become fully persuaded that He would heal me.

 

A statement Charlie Capps made in one of his writings was, "Thoughts of doubt left unspoken, die unborn." I knew that to be true, and decided no matter what my mind might be considering at any particular moment, the words of my mouth would be God's. I began to confess what God's Word said, that I was healed and made whole. I spoke to my own body, telling it about God's will and His mighty power. I began to truly rest in the will and power of God. I read and reread:

Mark 11:22-24

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

 

I spoke to that cancer and commanded it to leave. I did this for quite some time until I realized that I either believed what I was speaking or I didn't, and that if I believed it I didn't need to keep repeating it. Repeating it meant I really did not believe it. So I began to just remind my body that it was healed. I would tell it out loud that it was healed, that my health was bought and paid for by the stripes of my Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

 

I also knew my mind was weak at times. Sometimes I had so much doubt creep into my mind, and I needed to guard my heart.  I refused to let my heart become over run with doubt and worry. I found great comfort in Psalms. God directed me to:

 

Psalm 42:11

"Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, The help (KJV says "health") of my countenance, and my God".

 

This hit home for me. Whenever I started to have doubt and become discouraged I would say to myself, "Soul, why are you in despair and disturbed when your hope is in God"? I would then spend time praising God. Since our minds can only hold one thought at a time, when praising God and thanking Him, I cannot doubt at the same time.  A great remedy for doubting God is to praise Him, and it will help you guard your heart.  That is how I guarded my heart.

 

When I went to God and told Him that I needed more faith, He reminded me that I had all the faith I needed within me. I had been given:

The measure of faith... Romans 12:3

I am complete in Him... Col 2:10)

Jesus Christ within me, and the faith of Jesus Christ... Col 1:27

 

My problem was manifesting that faith. Faith is a fruit of the spirit (Galatians 5:22), and as I walk by the spirit and not by my flesh I have faith. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17). So I began to speak out loud more and more to myself declaring what God said. I literally told myself that I had faith to move mountains and that I was healed. Instead of saying I needed more faith, I made the decision to declare what God said and that is that I had great faith like Jesus Christ, all the faith necessary to bring about my healing. I confessed that I truly did trust God.  This one decision helped me tremendously to manifest more confidence and trust in God and caused me to quit looking at my fears, that I didn't have enough faith and myself. After all, who was I to argue with God?

 

At one point my doubts were leading to down right fear. I began to feel that perhaps I was a fool to think I could believe God to get my body well. I remember one morning having to deal with this fear and I remembered  I Timothy 1:7. I knew that fear was not from God. So again I went to my God and told Him I just could not deal with the fear, and I cast it on Him like He tells us to do with our cares. I gave God my fear. I commanded out loud for the fear to go and leave me and thanked God for taking it. I knew I could not handle the fear, I was too weak, but God could. He is strong where we are weak. When I did this, immediately I felt a great calm. When we are filled with thoughts and emotions that we know are not godly we really need to give them to Him rather than try to deal with them ourselves. We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us, not through our own strength- we just need to give this stuff to Him. He can deal with it, I sure couldn't.

 

Sometimes I would look at myself and wonder why I had not been able to believe for an "instant" miraculous cure.  So many people in India seem to be able to do it. This, of course, led to a bit of self-condemnation. Once again, God reminded me of His Word- I John 3:20, 21 which says that if we condemn ourselves, God is greater than we are, and that when we are NOT condemning ourselves then our confidence is in Him. Self-condemnation gets us nowhere, except to more doubt and fear. Looking only to God and His power and greatness built my faith and brought to pass the thing that I wanted and needed.

 

I would reminded myself that God says in Philippians 4:19, that He will supply all my needs by His riches. God began to teach me what was my responsibility in all of this and what was His. It is God's responsibility to heal us, to care for us and to meet our every need. It is not my responsibility. My responsibility is to allow Him to do this and to rest in Him. It is simply to go only to Him with confidence, trust and thanksgiving, knowing that what He says He will do, He will do. Healing is available and has been every since Jesus Christ bore those stripes. I learned that we could rest in that truth with great confidence in God's ability and faithfulness.

 

Sometimes it would help me to remind God of His responsibility, that He had to heal me because that was His job and He would not look good if He didn't. I was just being honest with my Father with my concerns, and He would assure me that He would not fail me. Of course, God never forgets what is His responsibility, but it helped me to talk openly with my Father like this. We have such a gentle, merciful Father. We can always go boldly to Him for help in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). He wants us to just be honest with Him.

 

God or Nothing: I remember wondering if the cancer had metastasized out into my body, if I were being a fool. It was about this time that Sangat Bains shared with me a testimony from a woman in West Virginia who had lost her eye. God was growing her a new eye. Wow, did that help my faith soar! I finally just made a decision that I was going to trust and believe my God. If I died, I died; if I lived, I lived, but it would be God or nothing. I remember thinking that if I were making the wrong decision that my children would probably never forgive me for dying on them and not being there to watch my grandchildren grow up. I did not want that. 

I reminded God again that that would not be good PR for Him. But I knew in my heart I had to make this decision, I had to trust God completely. I had to please Him and care more about what He thought  than what others might think. It was at this point that I put my herbs away and turned completely to my heavenly Father, to my Daddy. I remember spending some time with Marsha Fitzgerald and sharing my decision and thoughts. It is good to have a brother or sister in Christ to talk to who knows and trusts the Lord. I am so thankful for her and the words she shared to build my faith.
